Description

The renovation of St. Michaels Ward was a challenging project that required a lot of hard work and dedication from everyone involved. The demolition process began in September 2022, where the team worked tirelessly to remove all existing partitions, doors, frames, ceilings, and floors.

Once the demolition was complete, the team started installing new partitions to create nine three-bed bays with ensuites, as well as six single rooms with ensuites.

The team also replaced the old timber-framed windows with new aluminum double-glazed windows, and installed steel door frames throughout the building. To ensure that the building was equipped to meet the needs of the patients, the team installed bedhead units in each room, which incorporated medical trunking. The external works included a new attenuation tank, car-park, footpaths, and landscaping, which were all completed to a high standard.

Despite the challenges encountered during the renovation, the project was completed within the estimated timeframe, and the building was handed over in May 2023. The renovated St. Michaels Ward is now a state-of-the-art facility that provides patients with a comfortable and safe environment for their recovery.
